Hot Chocolate 15k 2016

Sometimes things just make sense.  That's how this race went.  I was tasked with pacing the 9:30 group for a new pacing group - Beast Pacing.  For a 9:30 pace, my finish time needed to be 1:28:32.  I came in at 1:28:26, 6 seconds to spare.

The course ran along the river, with 4 water stops throughout the race.  Each of the stops had some sort of treat - marshmallows, chocolate chips, M&Ms... this did not sound appealing to me, but I'm the different one in that I do not enjoy chocolate.

The finisher's medal was huge! And fun, a piece of chocolate with a bite taken out, and personalized to our city with the cherry and the spoon.  The jacket was VERY nice, a little bit, but good quality.  The finisher's snacks were fun too!  A nice bowl that got filled with chocolate fondue and some treats to dip in it - I skipped out on the chocolate part.
