Mother's Day Weekend 2022

It was a busy, exhausting, lovely, great weekend.

Friday started off getting traps set in our backyard to catch a gopher that is tearing up our yard.  After work, I met with Joel's parent and his grandma at Pezzo's for some delicious pizza for an early Mother's Day dinner since his parents were heading on a cruise the next day.  We got home and got the kids to bed when Jen called and said they were heading to Roadside.  Jen and Sean picked me up and we headed for a drink - it was great to catch up with them since I haven't seen them in a while!

Saturday, Joel had a pickleball tourney (he got 2nd!).  I got the kids ready and we stopped at Dunkin Donuts and then headed over to watch him play.  The tourney was up in Ramsey.  We watched a little and then played on the playground a little (SO HARD TO DO WITH BOTH KIDS). I packed the kiddos up and headed to one of the Mom's on the Run laides' house for a brunch.  The kids loved the food and all the people (after Hailey warmed up a bit).  As I was driving home, I saw a HUGE fire going on by the kiddos' daycare.  Turns out the rumor is a person decided it was a good day to burn their Christmas tree and took out 83 acres when it spread! I got Miles down for a nap but he woke up early so I ended up going in and rocking him back to sleep and ended up dozing off with him.  It was lovely.

When the kiddos woke up, I packed and up and signed out of parenting duty.  I went over to Dunn Brothers and had a latte and finished up our wedding photo album.  Once that was done, I went over to Joel's parent's house to have a girl's night with his sisters.  We watched How to be Single, drank wine and beer, made delicious homemade pizza and chatted on the porch.  It was an amazing evening.

I slept like a log and was up around 5:30.  I finished my book, cleaned up the kitchen, and then did some digital planning.  Joel brought the kids over for brunch after Miles' nap.  He brought donuts and I cooked up omelets.  I took the kids grocery shopping, Joel cleaned the fridge and then we got the kiddos down for a nap.  Hailey was struggling so I rocked her to sleep and she napped on me for a while which hasn't happened in ages! When they woke up, we took the kids to Eric and Alli's house to say hello and played at the park in their neighborhood.  It was a little chilly and windy but nice to get outside. We went to Lotus in Maple Grove for dinner.. it was SO GOOD.  We got home and got the kiddos to bed and I took a bath and read and then I went to bed.

Overall, it was just an lovely, busy, but relaxing-ish weekend! Still giving my hip a rest since I'm in lots of pain so didn't run any, but was mentally okay with it, suprisingly.
