February Updates

 Pregnancy -

We had a little scare - we ended up going in to make sure I wasn’t having contractions. I ended up taking the day off of work and doing a little too much organizing and tweaked an ab and could barely breath or stand up from the pain.  It took about a week for me to be able to roll over when trying to sleep in bed without it hurting.

I bought a whole 2 years worth of boy's clothes off of Facebook Marketplace and we are slowly moving stuff out of the soon to be nursery to get ready for baby.  I'm taking a whole week off in March to do a bigger reorganization.  We had changed one of the three upstairs bedrooms upstairs into Joel's office and bought a closet system from Ikea since our closet in our bedroom is so small.  We are now turning that into the nursery so I am slowly moving stuff out of there into our bedroom - I bought a closetmaid kit to add a little more storage into our bedroom closet and than going to move Joel's office/the rest of the closet to one of 2 bedrooms downstairs.

We are going to buy a Snoo for baby boy off of a running club friend that will be transitioning her son out of it in March.  I'm excited about that! Hopefully he'll do okay in that and then we can move Hailey's crib into his room once she grows out of it.

25 weeks pregnant

Hailey -

We reached out to another mom that has a kid in Hailey’s daycare class since they are already in each other’s circle - we had a couple play dates. Hailey had so much fun!! It is so adorable to watch them run around and laugh together.

I took Hailey to Target to pick out a baby doll.  It was a process. I showed her every kind of doll - princess dolls, all the different hair colors, race, gender.  She picked out a blonde haired, browed eyed boy baby doll and carries it around everywhere!

Joel's favorite thing is when he is about to put her to bed and stands up from the rocking chair and she snuggles her head into his neck

Other favorite things - Hailey doing an elephant and snake impressions, when she backs up and plops onto your lap.

She's still not talking - she's good at doing little impressions of animals and saying uh-oh and "disss" to everything.  At the end of the month, she did learn to say the work elbow and aggressively grab her elbow, it's quite adorable.  Then - on the last day of the month, after hanging out with Tucker, she started to say Tucker!  It's so fun to see her with Tucker and Cassie - they are so excited to spend time with her and it's adorable (they had COVID earlier this month and are finally on the mend - figured it was one of the best times to see them now that they're recovered)

Her hair is getting noticeably longer! I can fit it into piggy tails and almost do french braids in it.

She has her 18 month check up at the beginning of March.

Life -

It has been so darn cold out - we were in the double digit negatives so we definitely felt a little cooped up.  We did got out to eat a few times this month, mainly first thing in the morning for breakfast before things got crowded.  Joel has been playing pickleball on Saturdays as well.  It's been nice to have a little feeling of normalcy sprinkled in..

We had Joel's family over to our house for birthday pizza, Hailey loved the pizza and attention, especially from grandma and grandpa! We also go to see Tucker and Cassie finally, since they are over COVID.

Joel's parent's house they are building 10 minutes from our house has so much progress! We stopped in and the roof was finished and all the rooms framed.  We are so excited for them to be so close.

I got my hair cut and colored by a Moms on the Run friend - she did a great job! I decided to go dark to try to match my natural color so I can just let it be with the pandemic and soon to be newborn.

My peloton delivery got moved up to the first week of March. It's been so nice to have the app and the indoor trainer set up, I've gotten so many more workouts in that I would have if I didn't have the app.

We have been checking adult things off our list.  We both had our life insurance interviews and executed our wills and health care directives this month. It was definitely a different vibe in downtown, they are preparing for the big trial for the murder of George Floyd in the next couple weeks - there are barricades with barbed wire fence everywhere.  I didn't even realize what that was at first and just assumed it was construction but our lawyer that was doing our wills told us what was going on.
