Our Weekend
Friday
I went over to a coworker’s house in the afternoon and brought them lunch since they had a baby almost 2 weeks ago. I ended up hanging out there for a few hours, just chatting and comparing baby notes. I even go to try out my new camera with them, it was just a very nice visit. I then met Jen and Sean for happy hour at Roadside. They are my favorite people to just hang out with. I picked up pizza and headed home to hang out with the kids while Joel went to pickleball. We had a very, very rough bedtime. It took Hailey over an hour to finally stop screaming and crying and let herself fall asleep. I had to take Miles out to the front step with the monitor so I didn’t have to listen… it was so sad :( If I would go in, she would get more riled up, so it was better to let her cry it out, unfortunately.

Saturday
Saturday, I took the kids for a walk with a friend and her two kids and then let them play on the playground. Joel had our neighbor over to work out while we were gone. It was amazing to catch up with her and the kids had so much fun at the park! Hailey refused to nap so I ended up throwing her in the stroller and doing a long run with her. We ran over to Joel’s parents and then Joel met me over there with Miles. We left the kids there so we could go down to Lakeville for a friend’s 40th birthday party. It was great weather to be outside and hang out and play hammerschlagen. We picked up Crumbl on the way back home and watched Ted Lasso and enjoyed some dessert.
Sunday
Joel had a pickleball thing down in Bloomington all morning, so I had both kids. I went over to a friend’s house to just hang out impromptu. I used to work with her at Cummins and she was one of my first friends in Minnesota. We drank coffee and chatted and Miles snuggled with her while Hailey played with Jenga blocks with her son and husband. It was the best chat and I realized how much I missed talking to her. We then went over to my friend/coworker’s house in Maple Grove to hang out for a bit. We drank coffee and chatted and Miles got snuggles. Hailey LOVED the fishies that they have. She ended up laughing so hard playing. It was such a great visit. We then went to Taco Bell and had some lunch. I fed Miles in the parking lot while Hailey ate so many goldfish to keep her distracted. We headed to the Nowthen Treshing Show to meet up with another friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. Hailey ate ice cream, watched tractors, rode a pony, rode a train, looked at animal - just had the best time! Joel was able to join us for the last hour or so - Hailey was SO excited when she saw him. It’s so cute how much she just loves him. We went and had dinner at Kendall’s (good food, but forgot how expensive it is) and then headed home.
It was such an eventful weekend. I’m looking forward to having a week overlap with Joel for my last week of maternity leave since he starts his paternity leave this week.
