Zoo Day!

Joel and I have one week overlapping for paternity/maternity leave so we decided to take Hailey out of daycare one morning to go to the Minnesota Zoo.  We have a friend that is a member so she was able to get us in basically for free - we just had to pay for Joel. 

It was an unusual morning where me, Miles and Hailey didn't get out of bed until almost 7:30, which made it a little tight since we needed to be on the road at 8 (normally everyone is up by 6:30 at the latest!).  We grabbed Caribou and headed the 45 minutes to the zoo.  Hailey was pretty good in the car, we only had to give her Cocomelon the last 10 minutes or so. 

We met my friend and her 2 kids and did the tropical portion first, then the fish and then outside stuff.  Hailey's favorite part was the fish.  She is so adorable to watch as she takes everything in.  She was also so cute running everywhere.  We had a little sad part when she was at the splash pad and was looking to see where the water went and it started up and hit her right in the face.  She was scared of the water after that - hopefully she will overcome that!

After the zoo, we headed to Noodles and Company for lunch and then dropped Hailey off at daycare for naptime.  She went right to sleep but only slept about a half hour.  She was in good spirits though the rest of the day, despite all of the activity and lack of sleep!
