Our Weekend in Pictures
Friday
I decided to actually get out of bed after Miles' 4am waking/feeding and start the day. I walked Dakota and got some chores and reading done before anyone else woke up. It was such a nice start to the morning. I got a new camera lens and decided to try to take some pictures of the kids - I thought they turned out great!
Miles and I made a Costco run and picked up Papa Murphys on the way home for lunch.
After daycare, we played at the park for a bit while Joel played tennis and pickleball.
I had both kids for bedtime and it was definitely one of the nightmare bedtimes. Hailey started having tantrums right when we got home. It started with her thinking part of her dinner was hot so screaming and crying on the floor. Miles got super fussy, which doesn't happen very often, but of course would happen that night. I finally just put Hailey into the bathtub to at least break up the evening. We tried to read some books, but I wasn't reading correctly that night supposedly because she was very frustrated. She seemed very tired from daycare and the park, so I put her down for bed. She has been refusing sleeping lately, so cried for a good half hour before finally giving in. It was tough.... but both kids finally went to bed and I took a bath and read my book, which was definitely needed after that night. Miles suprised us all and slept over 7 hours straight! He did a lot of random squaks and grunting and little cries, so of course I didn't get that sleep, but it is always nice to not have to physically do anything.
Saturday
We went to Carol's with Dan and Sheri for breakfast right when they opened. I just love that place for breakfast! We went over to their house to play for a bit. Hailey got to ride in the four wheeler, play some ping pong, and play with all the toys. We headed home and had lunch and tried to get Hailey down for a nap.... but she wasn't having it. We tried for over an hour and she just wouldn't sleep.
Thankfully, she wasn't too crabby. We packed up and went down to Rosedale to go to SeaQuest. When we got there, the line was really long - every parent in the area must have had the same idea as we did. We changed our minds and headed back up to Blaine. We stopped by Jen's house and hung out there for a couple hours with the kids watching the Olympics. Hailey played with stickers and ate crackers on Jen's lap. It was so nice to get out of the house and hang out with them
Sunday morning, I went to running club with Miles while Joel hung out with Hailey. It was so muggy and wet out! But I made it 8 miles with the Northstar group! It was so nice to catch up with them, since I haven't gotten to run with them in a long time. I grabbed Dunn Bros and food from Longfellow Grill to bring to one of the Second Time Mamas whose son is in the PICU at Childrens St. Paul with RSV. I know how tiring the coffee and breakfast at the hospital can be...
Hailey had a lot of fun with Joel while I was gone! She played in the garage while he got his whole workout in and then they went and played with the wagon. She even pulled it around by herself. She said blueberry!! Joel got it on camera and it was the cutest
Hailey actually napped for a bit, but Miles ended up waking her up crying. She snuggled me on the couch for probably a half hour after getting up, which was just the sweetest since she doesn't do that very often anymore.
We went to InnerActive in Mounds View - an indoor playground. Hailey had SO MUCH FUN! She loved the slide with the rollers and the bouncy mat thing. Joel had fun playing with her! Miles slept through most of it.
We grabbed dinner at Panera before coming home to do baths and bedtime. I put some of our baby stuff outside for a couple to come pick up from the Buy Nothing Blaine Facebook group - that was nice to free up some space.
Both kids fell asleep before me and Joel went to bed, so we actually sat out and watched TV a little bit together, it was so nice!
