August Updates
Not much has been going on, we just keep grinding through the days of adjusting to the two littles. The weather has been hot.
- I got a new camera and a new lens - it’s just so fun to play with
- I got a nice IPad and accessories to use with a treadmill that we will eventually buy, we decided to not get the Peloton and just go for a nice one that’s not $4k
- Joel has been playing more pickleball. Friday nights have been fun for him to play under the lights with some other players his skill level
- Joel got a new boss at work and so far seems to enjoy it
- Joel starts his paternity week soon and I go back to work on the 30th… Ooft. I don’t want to be a stay at home mom at all but I don’t know how I’m going to adjust to working again. My brain is just blah
- Hailey is just turning into a little person! She is starting to talk a little bit more and is definitely stubborn
- Miles is doing well! Just the chillest little guy. He’s still not sleeping great, but he wakes 1-2 times at night for feedings with me popping his pacifier in his mouth to try to keep him asleep longer. It will be nice when he’s down to 1 feeding a night
- It’s been so fun to meet up with other moms - from the Amma Second Time group, the ECFE class and from daycare. It’s so nice to have other people to talk to that are in the same season of life as us
- Wedding dress shopping for Leah!! Such an amazing girl’s day and she looked so stunning in all of the dresses she tried on. She found the most perfect one for her ❤️ We had coffee and sushi lunch and went to two different shops before grabbing cookies and heading to Dan and Sheri’s to celebrate Sheri’s birthday
- We explored a new to us lake with Joel’s mom, Hailey loved to play in the water. She peed in her swimsuit while she was showering and did this cute little thing where she stuck her tummy out and washer off her bottoms
- We took Hailey and Miles to Seaquest in Roseville Mall - she had so much fun looking at the fishies and feeding them! (It was fun, but definitely overpriced)
- We went over to one of Joel’s old coworker’s house to have dinner after work one night. They have a 4 year old son and a daughter that is few months younger than Hailey. Hailey had a ton of fun playing with all of their toys and going down the slide. She even ate a good dinner!
- We signed Hailey up for Swim lessons (Back Float Baby 2) and gymnastics that start in September. We toyed with putting her in dance but it was kind of expensive and was a LONG commitment for something we don’t know if she will have any interest in. The gymnastics goes until 7:30 pm on a weeknight, so is a little late for Hailey. It’s with her best daycare friend, so hopefully that helps keep her in a good mood
