It’s been a bit since I’ve actually done a recap - I’ve been doing daily little blurbs in my digital planner but the two busy kiddos and busy work right now has made it tough for me to find energy to type up anything.
This weekend has been pretty great! Joel’s parents took the kiddos Friday night so we could finally have a date night and eat without having to wrestle two toddlers. I was cleared to add in little bits of running at the doctor Friday morning as long as it was on flat, even ground. After work, Joel and i went for a super short run/walk to gauge how it felt. Then I did a peloton arms workout, hopped in the shower and met a friend at Invictus for a quick drink. Joel wrapped up work and we headed over to Pezzo Pizza - my absolute favorite (although it was quite expensive) . After dinner, we came home and made cookies with ice cream and watched Top Gun. I had never seen it! We went to bed early.

Saturday morning, we got up and had coffee and finished watching the Crossfit Documentary. It was really good and emotional! After a slow start to the morning, we headed out on our bikes and rode about 13 miles. It was so lovely to do! We then went to Carol's for breakfast and came home and made lattes and I read while Joel cleaned out the garage a little bit. Joel's parents dropped the kiddos off and they did rest time and then we went to Costco and spent WAY too much money. We came home an had dinner and go the kids to bed. Joel went to play pickleball and I stayed up late reading.
Sunday morning, Joel had pickleball early so I took the kids to McDonalds to eat in the park (side note, when did McDonalds get so expensive?!). We ended up going to three different parks. When we got home, Joel had just gotten home so he hung out with the kids so I could mow the front yard - the back is still a mess from all of the playground pieces sitting out there that I haven't put together yet.. Joel headed out to do a long bike ride with some friends. The kids went down for quiet time but Hailey refused to nap... so when Miles woke up, I got them in the car and we drove all the way down to Bloomington to meet up with Tucker and Snuffys Malt Shop. Hailey tripped and skinned her knee in the parking lot so it was a dramatic entrance into the restuarnt. We headed home after some ice cream and I threw Joel's lamb roast into the oven. I ended up tripping over Miles' walker toy and falling really gracefully (hard..) onto the floor and making my hip very angry... With all that excitement, I ended up going to be right around the time kids went to bed.

Just a cute thing I don't want to forget - Hailey has been calling it 'soggy' out instead of foggy :)
Next weekend is going to be super busy! We are going boating on a friend’s boat and then hosting a bunch of coworker friends for brunch. We also decided to host the Night to Unite at our house - stay tuned for if anyone shows up! We passed out flyers to all the houses, but we know practically zero of our neighbors so it’s hard to gauge if anyone will come.
