Six Things Sunday

I feel like I say this every month, but where is the time going?!

  • This was my first weekend of official Grandma’s Marathon training - I was consistent and got in all of the planned runs.  It is 4 days of running a week for a total of 26 miles this week.

  • I have started to use a digital planner and I absolutely love it!  My manager even got me an iPad for work so I can take all of my notes digitally as well.  I got a thinner Apple Pencil tip and that has made it even more fun to write with. Here is an excerpt from my weekly training log:

  • We got to play at Inner Active with a friend that I grew up with in Sioux Falls.  One of Hailey’s daycare friends also showed up.  The kids had so much fun.  Miles crawled everywhere and got into all the toys.  He ended up only taking one nap yesterday but it was 3 hours long!

  • I ordered the new Garmin Fenix 7S watch, it is scheduled to get here next week.  I am really excited for it.  I know it’s not that much better than my current watch, but it gives me a little boost of excitement for this training cycle and getting back to being a marathoner.
  • We have been going to happy hour on Fridays after work the last couple of weeks with some coworkers and it has really been fun.   I got promoted to Principal Engineer and it was nice as a sort of celebration this week.
  • Joel played in his first big pickleball tournament last week.  He played singles on his birthday, which was a Thursday.  He didn’t do as well as he would have liked but it gave us an opportunity to to spend some time together.  We walked around the Mall of America and then went to a movie there- Death on the Nile.  It was the first movie I have been to in 2.5 years. There were only 2 other people in the whole theater, it was so empty - I have no idea how those places are going to make any money.
