Miles Wayne at 11 Months

 

Likes:

• Getting into everything, he crawls everywhere, he pulls up on everything, he has started to use the walker more but doesn't seem very interested in standing or walking by himself
• He is obsessed with speed crawling and getting into everything. Seriously - EVERYTHING. He loves to take off to go push the buttons on the BedJet under our bed.  
• He loves to climb. He climbs up on the stool in the kitchen to get up to the counter (he can't figure out how to get back down yet). He loved trying to climb up on the airplane seats and play peak with the back of the plane.
• He LOVES the ball pit we have downstairs
• Baths, he LOVES the bathtub

Dislikes:

• Sitting still - he is sitting up really well now but doesn't like to stay in one place for long
• Getting his diaper changes, he CANNOT be held down
• He really doesn’t not like much….

Sleeping: 

Naps at daycare and at home are going well.  He is down to 2 naps a day, about 1-1.5 hours each at home but has gone down to only 1 1.5-2 hour nap at daycare since he moved up to the big infant room. This is the same this month as last month

We have still been putting him to bed between 6 and 7.  We have basically given up on sleep training for now because the cry it out method just does not work :(. We just give him a bottle in the crib (and then we go back to bed... I'm aware this is a terrible habit) when he wakes up and he will fall back asleep until about 6-7.  It takes about 2 minutes so right now we’re just dealing with it… I don’t really know how we are going to get him to sleep through the night but he will cry for multiple hours sitting up or standing if we don’t give him the bottle..... same as last month :( We just want sleep

Eating: 

Miles has reduced his bottle intake a bit, only drinking 2-4 ounces at a time every 4-6ish. This includes a 4 ounce bottle at some point in the early mornings… still...

He has started to get a little more picky with eating solids, he doesn’t like eggs or bananas…. He loves teething crackers and puffs and fruit. He really likes to eat spoonfuls of peanut butter

Growth: 

Wearing 9-12 and 12-18 month and in size 4 diapers.  We are still using sposie pads in his diaper at night. He’s a solid little boy.

Firsts:

This month had a few firsts -

• First airplane ride
• First time swimming
• First time in the ocean/at the beach
