Closing Out June

Gosh, where has the time gone?!  We're coming up on July already... it's so weird that we are already well into summer.

Life

This month has been a whirlwind of adjusting to being a family of four and everything else that has gone on - as documented in my many other posts.  It's crazy how exhausting, boring, yet the time flies with a newborn.

Highlights/lowlights from this month:

  • Hemorrhaging, emergency surgery and blood transfusion
  • Father's day dinner at our house and spending time with family
  • Multiple walks/runs/bike workouts, trying to get back into the swing of things slowly
  • Walking with the neighbor
  • Happy hour at Invictus with the neighbor and my coworker's wife (I guess I should just call her my friend now!)
  • Spending time with Tucker and Cassie
  • We got Dakota back home - definitely an adjustment with him
  • Joel got an Apple Watch for Father's Day!
  • I got food poisoning that took me out for a whole night/day... oooft. Joel had to take all the night feedings and work on and off to take care of Miles during the day
  • Joel's parents closed on their new house!!! They now only live 10 minutes away from us - and Joel's sister and fiance close on their house tomorrow
  • Started two different mamma classes - one through ECFE and a Second Time Mama class through Amma, so awesome to spend time with people going through similar things, and just a good excuse to get out of the house and shower
  • Joel has been playing pickleball a little more, loving playing on Friday night under the lights in Blaine - people from all over the cities have been coming up to play
  • We walked around at the Blaine Festival a couple of days and Hailey seemed to enjoy it, since she's been a pandemic kid, this was really the first experience for her with something like that

Hailey

This month Hailey is starting to talk more and has even strung a couple of words together (no daddy! no mine!)

  • She's loving the water days at daycare
  • She's had a recurrent ear infection that kicked her butt for a while - she's on her second round of antibiotics
  • She loves dogs! She calls the 'uppies

Miles

Miles is really chunking out.  In the last week, we have switched to just formula and I have quit pumping and breastfeeding.  Since that, Miles is a new baby! He is pretty darn chill and eats formula like a champ.  He's starting to stay awake for longer stretches during the day.  He still only gives us about a 3ish hour stretch at night, but we'll take it since we weren't getting this at this point with Hailey.  We'll all be thankful though when he gives us longer stretches :) Hopefully soon-ish!
