Start of February
This week was challenging trying to navigate having a toddler home due to COVID exposure and a huge pick up in activities and responsibilities at work. I NEVER want to be a person that puts work before family, but it was one of those weeks where there was so much going on that I felt like I needed to work 100 hours and couldn’t because I needed to keep Hailey entertained. We definitely turned to a little more screen time than I would like. I also am in awe with daycare and getting her to eat. Her diet at home lately has been spoonfuls of peanut butter and bowls of goldfish. She refuses to eat anything else.
Hailey tested negative on Wednesday so could go back to daycare on Thursday. Miles was able to go the whole time, which is good because he is getting into EVERYTHING, crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything. He hasn’t figure out how to sit back down yet so will get super frustrated after he’s been standing a while and wants down. He also popped his first tooth this weekend!
I started to feel a little icky on Wednesday so I took a rapid test. I ended up taking two more rapids because I just felt awful and they were all negative so I went and got a PCR, which was also negative. So it seems like I probably got whatever cold Miles had last week. It’s such a bummer because we thought Miles would be sleeping through the night by this point, but he still gets up at least once usually between 3-4:30 and needs a bottle. There is no letting him cry it out because he REALLY wants that food. It’s so hard to tell if we let him cry for an hour or so if he would ever calm back down, but he has had a cold too so we haven’t pushed it.
Joel played pickleball yesterday and then I went for a 7 (!!!) mile run once he got home. It was so cold, the wind definitely chilled me to the bone. The footing also was pretty rough. I was so proud of myself for getting it done though! My Achilles and shin managed the whole way without any issue. My shin is a little irritated today, but not too worried because that’s the longest run in months. It is amazing that that used to be a normal distance for me on a regular day but now it’s a long run. I need to start building soon for Grandma’s marathon. We went over to Joel’s parents to hang out and have nachos at their house for dinner. I think I say it weekly, but it’s so nice they’re so close.
Joel is hanging out with the kids now and I walked over to Caribou to read and relax. He is going to brunch and a movie with his 2 best friends today. We haven’t been to a movie since before Hailey was born…
