Five Things Friday
2. I finished my last week of the ECFE babies class. It was a good way to get out of the house but I prefer the Amma class since Miles was a little young to really get too much out of the class. It was nice to have a supportive environment to spend Wednesday mornings though! Thankfully, our Amma class got canceled this week so it will get extended a week and I will get to go!
3. I finally told Joel his surprise for this weekend. I broke into his email about a month again and got a bunch of his friend’s email addresses. I rented out a couple bays at Top Golf this weekend and got one of the food packages for him and his friends. I had been planning to tell him only as we were driving to Top Golf but with the logistics of the two kids and packing for our trip, it was better to just tell him and give him something to look forward to this week.
4. Hailey ended up getting RSV. We got the call Friday towards the end of the day at daycare that her fever hit 100.8. In order for her to go back to daycare, she needed a negative COVID test and an alternate diagnosis. We couldn’t sneak her in to her pediatrician so we went to urgent care. She tested positive for RSV, negative for COVID and had another ear infection. The doctor said her ear looked really bad. Since she was just in amoxicillin and then augmentin, she started cednifir this time. We go in today to see if it cleared up.
She was so cute when I picked her up from daycare. It was snack time and they were about to get goldfish crackers. She looked at me and was so torn between coming to me and getting her snack. Thankfully the teacher gave her a little cup of goldfish to go. She was so cute carrying it and stopping to take one out to eat as we walked.
5. I’ve been sneaking a few more runs in lately and I’m really happy about it! They’re not super long but I have gotten a couple workouts in. It definitely takes me longer to get warmed up than it used to

Sounds like a good plan to go back to the crib. That is such a huge shift and can be a hard adjustment so waiting until Miles is sleeping better and she's a bit older is a good plan. It's nice that your crib rails go far enough down to make the mattress on the floor situation work. Ours doesn't! But Paul hasn't tried to climb out of the crib so we've been able to keep him in there. He'll be 3.5 in Sept so it's probably time to get him a bed, especially now that Will is close to STTN. I cut his night feeds this week so he's not up as much but will sometimes cry for awhile during the night so we are not exactly all STTN just yet...
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun gift for Joel! For Phil's 40th, I am planning some rounds of golf for him. I have 3 rounds planned so far and I think that is going to have to be enough. Plus, it's hard for me to be alone for hours on end w/ the boys. Luckily 2 of the rounds will be on Friday afternoons so I won't have a ton of alone time w/ the boys, although daycare is closed on one of those Friday afternoons. The gift of time with friends is the best gift during this stage of life!
Oh and Hailey's ear trouble reminds me of Paul's first 5-9 months of life. He got an ear infection during his first 2 weeks of daycare and then it did not clear until he got tubes at 9 months. I know there is a protocol that has to be followed before you can get an ENT referral but I'd ask about it/push to get the referral ASAP. Getting tubes was the best thing for Paul. It's not great to have a procedure but it was so worth it. He did get ear infections after tubes but you treat them with ear drops. The oral antibiotics were so hard on Paul like they are on Hailey. he pooped SO much and got horrible diaper rashes. And the fluid in his ears was starting to impact his hearing. That plus the fluid not clearing is what resulted in getting tubes.
